Check-in & briefing: Check in with event staff on arrival and review your role, location, and emergency contacts before starting.
Stay home if sick: Do not attend if you have fever, vomiting/diarrhea, or other contagious symptoms. Let the coordinator know so coverage can be arranged.
Hydration & heat safety: Drink water regularly, take shade breaks, and watch for heat exhaustion (dizziness, headache, nausea). Tell staff immediately if you or a guest looks unwell.
Emergency response: In any emergency, call 911 first, then notify the Event Lead/Security. Know the nearest exits and the location of first aid.
Report hazards immediately: Spills, broken glass, unsafe behavior, blocked exits, or suspicious activity should be reported to staff right away—don’t try to handle it alone.
Keep exits and lanes clear: Do not block doors, walkways, ADA access, fire lanes, electrical panels, or vendor/venue service routes.
Food safety (vendors): Follow all local rules; keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold, use gloves/utensils as required, and maintain a clean prep/serve area.
Electrical & equipment safety: Use grounded/approved cords, tape down cables, and don’t overload outlets. Keep equipment stable and away from water.
Alcohol service: Only authorized staff may serve alcohol. Do not provide alcohol to anyone who appears intoxicated or underage; alert security/staff if there’s an issue.
Personal security: Keep valuables secured, use the buddy system when moving cash/supplies, and use well-lit areas after dark.
Sun & beach safety (Birch State Park): Use sunscreen, wear footwear, stay aware of surf/conditions, and follow park staff directions at all times.
Respect & consent: Harassment, discrimination, or unsafe conduct is not tolerated. If someone feels unsafe, notify event staff immediately.
