This summer, Downtown Duluth comes alive with hands-on learning! From May 28 to July 30, we’re partnering with top Atlanta-area museums and science centers to bring exciting, educational STEM experiences to Parsons Alley. Designed especially for kids ages 5–11 , each Wednesday features a new activity that sparks curiosity and encourages discovery through science, technology, engineering, and math. Sessions at 10:30am and 11:30am. Registration is required. July 16, 2025 - Minerals & Fossils with the Tellus Science Museum Uncover the wonders beneath your feet in this hands-on geology workshop! Students will explore real mineral specimens and fossilized remains of ancient life to learn how Earth's layers hold clues to our planet's past. They'll investigate the properties of minerals—like hardness, color, and crystal shape—and discover how fossils are formed and what they can teach us about prehistoric creatures and environments. It's a perfect blend of earth science and natural history that inspires curiosity about the world around (and beneath!) us. Suggested for ages 5-11. Parents must accompany children during this activity. Cost is $5/child With registration, each participant will receive a gift certificate redeemable at Downtown Duluth businesses. Value $5. Come explore, create, and learn—one wonder-filled Wednesday at a time!
