The South Central Florida Car Club will be joining us on Sunday, November 14th. Come learn about how to restore your dream vehicle. Cars will be set up along Lee Street. South Central Florida Car Club is hosting a car show along Lee Street next to Barron Park. Admission is free to this event. The car show begins at 10:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 14. Shana Gaskill has been playing and teaching ukulele in the Florida Keys and appeared in many venues in Marathon. She currently teaches live and zoom classes from the Riverbend Estates in LaBelle. Mariela Croker started out making wood crafts. Her father was an old school woodworker and Mariela definitely caught the love for it. There were so many things she wanted to learn about and make so she added pottery, glasswork, hand-painted items, and paper crafting. Cat Bryant is a local artist specializing in watercolor and mixed media. Her artwork is influenced by the beauty of nature, local flora and fauna, the interconnectedness of all things, and the dream world that is inherent within the human spirit. She finds joy in the making of plush creations, art cards, and embellished pieces that can be treasured by others and share the inspiration. Bluemorph Studio is the name of Cat's art shop. She creates custom watercolor illustrations, mixed media, and other textiles and soft sculpture art pieces. Cat's work is inspired heavily by the local environment and beauty of nature, plants, and animals that surrounds us. Each art piece has a touch of whimsy and a bit of surrealism as well. Suzanne's Decorative Arts are all hand-painted by Suzanne. She works on various surfaces-canvas, wood, metal, and glass. Suzanne is great at repurposing items and she works basically in acrylics. Lisa Hutchins started to draw in 9th grade in high school. She ended up taking many classes for art. From drawing all the way to ceramics. Lisa has won 1st place in local art shows and honorable mentions in a country-wide contest. Art is a great hobby of hers and she wants to share her passion. Justine “J Burrd” is a Florida-based multi-medium artist who currently specializes in realistic large-scale mural painting. She paints interior, exterior, residential and commercial murals that bring life and color to any space. Patty Jackson teaches tap and musical theater at Footnotes. Patty moved to Lehigh Acres in 1986 and holds a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami. Prior to moving to Lehigh, she and her husband Mike Jackson owned and operated two dance studios in Kansas City, Mo and Belton, Mo. Patty started dancing when she was 3 years old. She studied at the University of Miami, University of Missouri in Kansas City, as well with Dorothy Shepherd, Jo Tremaine, Gus Giordano, David Howard, Alvin Alley Dance Company, and Charles Kelly. Before opening her dance studio she danced professionally at many local clubs in the Kansas City area. She has choreographed many musicals performed at the local level, half-time shows for Olympic exhibitions, and MTV. She has coached students who have won several State and National Championships. She and her Dancing Divas qualified as members of the United States Tap Dance Team and won 2nd place in the World Tap Dance Championship in Berlin, Germany. She has judged numerous beauty pageants and talent contests in the Mid America area including the Miss Teen contest in Missouri, Miss Pre-Teen in Florida, and National Miss Pre-Teen Contest. Patty is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine Science, Professional Dance Teachers Association, Dance Masters of America, Performing Arts Medicine Association, the National Baton Twirling Association, American Business Women's Association, National Baton Twirling Association, and Tri Beta Honor Society. Patty's projects are Dance Unlimited which is teaching children with disabilities to dance, and the Kinetic Rhythmic Dance Therapy. Alex Burden is a Florida-born musician and music educator residing in LaBelle, Florida. There, he is the music teacher at LaBelle High School. Concurrent with his duties at LHS, he also teaches private and group instrumental music lessons and performs regularly with various professional ensembles throughout Southwest Florida. Burden holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an instrumental concentration from the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. There he studied under world-renowned saxophonist Mario Bernardo. He also holds an Associate of Arts degree with a Music Education and Saxophone Performance concentration from Eastern Florida State College where he was a student of James Bishop. During his time at the Bower School of music, he served as principal saxophonist in the FGCU Wind Orchestra, lead alto in the Jazz Band Flight: Jazz at FGCU, and played soprano saxophone in the Bower Saxophone Quartet. Alex was selected to play tenor saxophone in the 2017 National Intercollegiate Band as well as principal alto saxophone in the 2017 Florida All-State Intercollegiate Band and tenor saxophone in the 2016 Florida All-State Intercollegiate Band. In November of 2015, Alexander participated in a critically acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the FGCU Wind Orchestra. At the LHS booth, children will have the opportunity to learn about and try various brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. The LaBelle High School Booster Band Club is hosting a session at the Barron Park Gazebo location. We are offering a total of five (5) tickets to participate in the session. Interested in learning the violin? Marissa, the Violinist, has one opening for Sunday 2:00 PM. Come see how much you love this instrument. Marissa Dupuis is a many-year resident of Lehigh Acres, Florida. She started playing violin in elementary school and joined the school orchestra. Marissa previously attended the Saginaw, Michigan Performing Arts Center where she played in the Symphony Orchestra. Presently, she performs violin for weddings and special occasions. She has a wide range in her music repertoire and is open to learning new music to suit your needs.
