About the event
The first SantaCaliGon Days festival was held in 1940 to celebrate the unique heritage of the City of Independence as the starting point of the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. A second celebration was held after World War II in 1947. The festival was not held again until 1973. In 52 years, the SCG has evolved into one of the nations premier FREE festivals, drawing more than 300,000 people each Labor Day weekend.

Parking instructions
Parking is available on the blocks surrounding the Independence Square. Additionally, a shuttle runs from the Community of Christ Auditorium parking lot to the Square throughout the festival, for just $1 per person. Handicap parking is available at Lynn and Truman Rd and Lynn and Kansas St with a handicap sticker, or hang tag.

Square Merchant:   This application is for those who have a brick & mortar business on the Historic Square.    

Booth Spaces: The bump outs will be located around the inner and outer perimeter of the Courthouse Square at each corner, and in the middle of the Lexington and Maple blocks, north and south of the Courthouse.  This design creates a shift in traditional booth placements throughout the Square, therefore, please read the following carefully!

·         If you intend to SELL outside of your storefront, please complete the following Square Merchant application 

·         Utilizing the 10X10 space for a tent is $250 (additional 10X10’s will be charged at the Arts & Crafts rate of $550 each – after June 1st, the rate will increase to $600)

·         If you purchase the booth space in front of your business, you agree to be OPEN throughout the hours of the festival as do all other vendors

·         You must register by July 1st – no exceptions

·         If you plan to be open, but will NOT BE SELLING outdoors – we encourage you to advertise your business in the walkway that MIGHT be in front of your doorway (again, NO GUARANTEES)

·         All merchants who are open will be noted on festival maps 

The anticipated bump outs will allow ample room for sandwich boards, flags, etc that the ISA and merchants can use to direct attendees to the brick-and-mortar locations.  Thank you for your understanding!
