About the event
Mountain Heritage Days is a gift from Western Carolina University to the community, hosting week-long educational events showcasing how much we value this incredible, beautiful region we call home and its diverse culture and history. Following with a free, outdoor festival where visitors can enjoy unique demonstrations, live entertainment, and tons of family-friendly activities, as well as arts and crafts / food vendors, celebrating Appalachian Mountain culture! SEPTEMBER 26 MOUNTAIN HERITAGE DAYS!!! (10 A.M. - 3 P.M.)

Volunteers
Interested in applying:

Volunteers for the Children's Heritage Activity Area will assist with arts and crafts activities, decorate/unload, stock water, load supplies, and tear down at the end. All volunteers will be asked to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to their shift for check-in.

Volunteers for Shape Note will welcome guests, give out ice water, handout & take up lyric books, invite guests to sign guestbook. Please arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your shift for check in.

Volunteers for the pickin' circle will Assist performers as needed, monitor sound system, restock water, and shift haybales as needed. Please arrive 15-30 minutes before your shift for check in.
Volunteers will assist with the Weekday Craft Demonstrations at the Catafount on Wednesday, September 23rd. Volunteer activities include loading, unloading, and assisting with demonstration activities as needed.
Volunteers for this activity will assist the Bardo Arts Center logistics including ushers, museum monitors, and more! All volunteers will be asked to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to their shift for check-in.
Terms & Conditions
By submitting your application, you are accepting the Terms and Conditions. There are a limited number of booth spaces available; they are assigned by the jurying committee, regardless of past involvement. Once receiving your application, a juried committee will review it and you will receive an email notification reflecting the status of your application. If your application is approved, booth fees will be due. NOTE: PAYMENT IS DUE UPON ACCEPTANCE ONLY. Applications close on July 31, 2026.
