Love anime, voice acting, pop culture, or keeping a conversation moving? We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable volunteers to help run our basement stage, featuring celebrity guest panels, fan panels, and cosplay contests!

You don't need to know every fandom. Preparation, professionalism, and a great attitude matter most.

 

Available Positions

 

1. Lead Panel Moderator / Stage Coordinator Full-day commitment preferred

Oversee the basement stage schedule, coordinate moderators and guests, introduce panels, manage transitions, help keep programming on time, and troubleshoot unexpected situations.

Ideal for someone organized, proactive, confident on a microphone, and comfortable taking the lead.

2. Panel Moderator Full-day or assigned-block commitment

Host guest panels by introducing guests, asking prepared questions, guiding conversations, managing audience Q&A, and keeping discussions engaging and on schedule.

We'll provide research, guest biographies, questions, and talking points. You bring the personality, preparation, and ability to make the conversation feel natural!

Anime, voice acting, wrestling, gaming, and other pop-culture knowledge is a plus. Previous public-speaking, hosting, theater, podcasting, or convention experience is welcome.

3. Stage Assistant / Programming Support Full-day or assigned-block commitment

Help behind the scenes by getting guests to the stage, preparing for upcoming sessions, assisting with microphones and seating, coordinating transitions, and supporting the moderators and stage lead.

 

Ideal for someone organized, dependable, and comfortable working behind the scenes.

Event Details

Saturday, November 21: General admission 11 AM–6 PM

Sunday, November 22: General admission 11 AM–5 PM

 

VIP entry begins at 10:30 AM. Volunteer arrival times will be earlier than general admission and confirmed before the event.

 

All panels and cosplay contests take place on the basement stage. Guest signings take place on the main floor.

 

We're looking for people who show up on time, communicate well, respect guest boundaries, and work as a team. Full-day availability is preferred for the lead position, but partial-day availability is welcome for other positions.

 

These are volunteer positions and are unpaid unless compensation is specifically agreed upon in advance.

Chaoticon is looking for awesome, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers (ages 14+) to help us bring the magic to life November 20 - 22 at the Civic Auditorium in LaPorte, IN! Whether you're a high school student looking to earn volunteer hours in a fun, exciting way or just someone who loves being part of a big event, we want YOU on our team.

• We’ll be scheduling shifts across the weekend, and no one is expected to work the entire event. You’ll be placed based on your availability and comfort level. Whether you’re helping set up, managing tickets, supporting celebs, or running the photo op booth, there’s a place for you.

-Saturday, Nov 21 / 2pm - 6pm  (Event Day 1, Shift 2) 
-Sunday, Nov 22 / 8am - 2pm  (Event Day 2, Shift 1)
-Sunday, Nov 22 / 2pm - 6pm  (Event Day 2, Shift 2) 
-Sunday, Nov 22 / 6pm - approx 8pm  (Teardown, Shift 3)
