45th Annual Bean Fest and Championship Outhouse Races

The Arkansas Championship Outhouse Races will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2027 in Mountain View, Arkansas!

The fun kicks off with the Parade of Outhouses around 1:00 PM, when the crowd gathers to cheer on their favorite “people-powered potty” teams. Each wheeled outhouse comes complete with a steering device for the fearless driver—who just so happens to be seated on a potty seat—while two mighty pushers supply the horsepower.

Teams go all out, dressing in costumes to match the theme of their privy, and all sense of seriousness disappears as racers line to compete in heats for the title of Fastest Privy in the Ozarks.

Calling All Bean Lovers!
We’re on the hunt for a few brave (and hungry!) judges for this year’s Bean Cook-off. Starting at 11 AM, you’ll sample your way through 30 pots of deliciously creative pinto beans —

Think you’ve got what it takes to help crown the BEST beans at Bean Fest 2027?

Then grab a spoon and join the fun! 🫘✨

Welcome to the 45th Annual Bean Fest and Championship Outhouse Races!

Do you have a secret family recipe for pinto beans? The kind that’s been perfected with a little love, a lot of patience, and maybe just a pinch of mystery? If so, this is your moment. Each year, thousands of folks gather to watch pot after pot of pinto beans slowly simmer in giant cast-iron kettles — and every one of them has its own story, its own flavor, and its own proud cook behind it.

It’s not just about the beans (though they truly are the star of the show). It’s about the smiles, the friendly competition, and the way the whole town fills with the comforting aroma of slow-cooked goodness. Whether you’re stirring the pot or just stopping by for a taste, you’ll feel like part of the family.

So bring your best recipe, your favorite spoon, and your bean-cooking pride. Who knows — your pot of pinto beans might just be the one everyone’s talking about this side of the Ozarks.
