Cotton Candy Sunset Mixed media on canvas About Teresa: Movement, light, mood, colour, shape, land, sky, ocean…all move me. I’m torn between ocean and sky inspired abstracted images and slightly more realistic tree and flower compositions. Working with art in the field of mental health has helped to develop my style. I’m a dabbler and can’t help trying new media and techniques. I paint huge pieces as well as tiny minis. My personal favourites are scenes inspired by the ocean and sky; they are often moody and saturated with colour. I’ve been kookily described as “seemingly inspired by van Gogh, Emily Carr and Dr. Seuss”. I see myself as fully engaged in living and I love being in nature. As a part time artist, I have had the great fortune to express myself and have a share of the art market in Calgary…but my true love is the west coast, where I’m from. I have regularly shown at Palette, Calyx, Beacon and New Earth Expo and have a vibrant and faithful customer base. I can’t keep my mini trees, ocean abstracts, Mother Nature series, and bright florals in stock. Colour, vibrancy, life…it’s great!
