The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival (*ALWAYS held on the second FULL weekend of October) The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival is always held on the 2nd full weekend of October. The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival is a show featuring over 400 crafters and artisans from over 26 different states! This two day event will attract between 300,000 and 400,000 visitors that line historic district of downtown Waynesville. Of course, there will be nearly 40 different food varieties showcasing Sauerkraut, such as sauerkraut pies and brownies, brats, pizza, and sundaes, and so much more!! Don’t worry if you don’t like sauerkraut though… there will be plenty of other food types without the Kraut! “The Festival is more than just a weekend of fun. It is also a weekend where the entire Waynesville Community comes together in a very dramatic way for the support and good of all. The festival celebrates tradition and serves as a major fundraising event for many of the area's civic and charitable groups. It also provides scholarships for our graduating seniors."
