James was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. He also spent his childhood living in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. In the ‘80’s he cut his teeth on horror movie nights with his brothers and watching as much sport as possible. Neither good looking enough for the movies, or athletic enough to play sport he spent his time watching both from the sidelines. The Raven's Prophecy series (2 books) is a middle grade fantasy set in a viking-inspired village.
