Building a Better Boyertown (BaBB) is spearheading a public improvement project in partnership with the Borough of Boyertown. This project will transform an existing walkway into a vibrant pocket park in downtown Boyertown. Boyertown lacks a central town square, this reimagined pocket park, though small, will make the downtown area more attractive and provide a place for residents to relax and gather. It will serve as a gateway to our main street, providing visual cues to the locations of shops, dining, and other businesses. It is located between the Town Center parking lot and the main street, East Philadelphia Avenue. It will include improved features such as level ADA accessible pavement, landscaping, seating, lighting, and signage. This former “link” will serve as a community gathering space that will attract people, increase foot traffic to nearby businesses, and boost the local economy. New landscaping will contribute to urban greenery, improve air quality, and help reduce urban heat island effects. This space will enhance the visual appeal of the neighborhood, potentially increase property values, and attract people to the downtown area. This park will be dedicated to our former Mayor of 20 years, Marianne Deery, who passed away in 2023. This dedication will honor her decades-long service to Boyertown and the community she loved.
