This September, we will proudly celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Albert Kahn-designed Historic Ford Hangar — an architecturally significant landmark recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1986.
This milestone marks the official launch of a capital campaign to secure the funding necessary to fully restore and reactivate the Hangar as a vibrant, multi-use asset for the community.
Once restored, the Hangar is poised to drive increased tourism, support local businesses, and position the Chicago Southland as a destination for innovation, education, public art, and long-term investment.
This campaign runs through Spring 2028. Donations of any size fund structural restoration, the aviation museum, public murals, and a venue the entire Southland can be proud of.
