Zenkaikon 2027

Volunteer Requirements Volunteers should be able to meet the following expectations regardless of assignment: 1. Be respectful, professional, and welcoming to attendees, guests, exhibitors, and fellow staff. 2. Follow the lead of the department you are helping and be open to direction during your shift. 3. Show up on time for the shifts you agree to and let someone know as soon as possible if something changes. 4. Ask questions when you are not sure what to do rather than guessing, especially if the situation involves safety, accessibility, medical concerns, or a conflict. 5. Share accurate information when you can, and help point people to the right department when you cannot. 6. Follow convention policies and department instructions consistently. 7. Learn the basic information you need for your assignment, including where to check in, who to contact, and how to get help if something comes up. 8. Be ready to follow through on the time commitment you signed up for. 9. Respect people's privacy and handle sensitive situations carefully. 10. Be upfront about any physical, schedule, or task limits so we can place you where you will be most comfortable and useful. 11. Return any borrowed equipment or supplies when your shift is over. Helpful Volunteer Qualities 1. Friendly, approachable, and calm under pressure. 2. Comfortable asking questions before acting when authority or policy is unclear. 3. Able to work in busy, noisy, or crowded environments. 4. Willing to support coverage gaps across departments when assigned.

This Press Application is intended for credentialed media outlets and working journalists. Eligible applicants typically include:

• Newspapers,
• Magazines
• News sites
• Broadcast media: TV, radio, and accredited news networks
• Recognized news agencies
• Industry or trade publications
• Journalists, reporters, and photojournalists on assignment
• Editors, producers, and accredited media staff

Applicants may be asked to provide press credentials, an editor’s assignment letter, or recent published work demonstrating professional journalism.

*We cannot guarantee approval for interviews/press conferences. Requests will be handled case-by-case and are subject to space and time availability.  Press Badges are at the discretion of Zenkaikon. They are evaluated on several criteria, including but not limited to the audience reach of the outlet, past coverage of Zenkaikon, and past status as an approved Press Badge holder.

 

Press Application Deadline: Saturday, January 2nd, 2027 at 11:59 pm. We will be reviewing applications and notifying accepted parties prior to Zenkaikon 2027. Priority will be given to applicants from media organizations and those with past approvals at Zenkaikon.
