About the event

Join Project Pride SRQ’s volunteer team supporting the Ruby Bridges Community Town Hall, part of Walk Forward: The Ruby Bridges Sarasota Initiative, on Thursday, November 12, 2026. Project Pride is coordinating a team of 4–5 volunteers to assist with Town Hall setup, VIP reception setup, parking and guest arrival, golf-cart transportation, guest directions and accessibility needs, and cleanup. Final responsibilities will be assigned by event leadership based on the needs of the event. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and available for the full 3:00–7:00 p.m. shift. Submission of an application does not guarantee placement. Project Pride will confirm volunteer assignments based on availability and event needs.

Parking instructions

Project Pride volunteers may park in the front or remote parking lot at Booker High School. Please arrive early to allow sufficient time to park, check in, and report to your assigned area by 3:00 p.m. Limited golf-cart transportation will be available to assist guests with disabilities. Final parking, check-in, and arrival instructions will be provided to confirmed volunteers before the event.

Health & safety

Volunteers must follow instructions provided by Project Pride SRQ, event organizers, and facility personnel. Any medical concern, security issue, safety hazard, or facility problem should be reported immediately to event leadership. Volunteers should not attempt to manage emergencies independently. Volunteers should wear comfortable business-casual attire and comfortable shoes. Some assignments may involve standing, walking, or working outdoors. Volunteers needing a reasonable accommodation should notify Project Pride in advance so an appropriate assignment can be coordinated. Only volunteers specifically assigned and authorized by event leadership may operate a golf cart. Assigned drivers must follow all event, facility, and safety instructions.
