The Valley Junction Art Committee has redefined Art in Valley Junction. Its primary focus is the juried exhibition of fine arts and crafts, giving the public the opportunity to meet, interact with and purchase original work by over 50 artists, enjoy free entertainment, and dine at food trucks or at one of the brick & mortar restaurants.

Parking instructions

Art vendors, attendees, and volunteers must park in one of the lots off 4th and 6th Streets. Food vendors may park behind their booth/truck on Maple St.

Health & safety guidelines

All vendors, volunteers, and staff must follow any CDC guidelines and local regulations regarding COVID-19.

Use this application to apply as a food vendor to the Valley Junction Arts Festival. Only four food vendors will be approved for this event, and each food vendor approved will have a unique menu. No overlapping of food menus will occur for this event,

Applications are now being accepted for the Valley Junction Arts Festival on 5th Street in Historic Valley Junction, the original downtown of West Des Moines. This is a juried art event and includes 50+ artists from Iowa and across the Midwest. This one-day event on a Sunday has long been one of the premier art festivals in Central Iowa attracting consistent crowds since the 1970's. In addition to the 50+ original art vendors there are art demonstrations, entertainment, and food trucks peppered throughout the festival.

Jury Fee: $20 (non-refundable)

Booth Fee: $125

Please read the following before applying

All art must be original works. No reproductions or commercial products or agents allowed.
Artists agree to be present during the entire show time.
Work shown can only be in the category that was accepted during the jury process.
All displayed work should be for sale.
Art demonstrations inside the booth space is highly encouraged. If you will be demoing at your booth, please note that on the application.
Manufactured objects, imported objects, mass-produced goods, edible items, personal care products, or perishable items are not permitted to be sold.
Printed reproductions cannot make up more than 50% of your booth. Prints must be clearly labeled.
All artists are required to comply with local and state regulations regarding the sale of goods. If you are unsure of what is needed to be legal to sell at fairs in Iowa please contact the Iowa Department of Revenue at https://tax.iowa.gov/

All awarded artists are invited to attend the 2024 Valley Junction Arts Festival exempt from booth fees and the jury process.

Booth Information

Booth rental fee is for exhibition space only.
Artists are responsible for supplying all equipment and materials for their booth setup including tent, tables, chairs, displays, product, etc.
Weights are required for each tent due to the possibility of wind gusts.
Power is not available to booth spaces.
Artists are responsible for all set-up and tear-down of booths.
Artists are not allowed to share a booth.
