Celebrating community through music on the porches of Virginia Highland! Kick-start the day with our Rock n Run at 11 am. Then, enjoy some of the best local bands and musicians in town on the lovely porches around the neighborhood from 12 pm to 6 pm with a finale performance from 6-7 pm in John Howell Park.

  • Rock N Run Details!
    Here are a few details for Rock N Run! Check in will begin at 10 am outside of John Howell Park. To check in you will need either your QR code or you may just provide your first and last name to the check in hosts. Don't forget to wear your favorite music gear and rock out! Friends and family can still sign up up until 11 am on May 28! You may pick up your tote after the race at the info booth where you checked in. There will also be an optional warm up, sponsored by Contour Pilates before the race at 10 AM. Bars open at 11 am so enjoy a cool one after the race! See you on Saturday!
    • Description
    Dress up as your favorite band or musician while you run this fun 1.05-mile run around where the festival will take place. Kids under 12 run FREE! Ticket holders will receive a Virginia Highland tote bag and free drink voucher to be redeemed at event concessions. Thank you for supporting this fundraising event! Rock on!

    About the Event:
    We are so excited to be launching our 4th Annual VaHi Porchfest on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Local bands will be jammin' and porches will be hoppin' as music fills Virginia Highland. We are selecting a few of our valued festival vendors to participate in the event. 
     
    Schedule:
    • The Rock n Run takes place at 11 am. Bands start at 12 pm and end at 6 pm, with a finale performance in John Howell Park from 6 to 7 pm. Vendors must be loaded in by 10:30 am. You are welcome to wrap up at 6 pm.
    • Vendors are responsible for providing their entire display, including tables, tent, chairs, table cloths, and other display items. Vendors must use a tent that is 100% white.
    • We'll be featuring your brand on our site and social media so please provide high quality images and logos.

    Information & Logistics
    • The Rock n Run takes place at 11 am. Bands start at 12 pm and end at 6 pm, with a finale performance in John Howell Park from 6 to 7 pm. Vendors must be loaded in by 10:30 am. You are welcome to wrap up at 6 pm.
    • Vendors are responsible for providing everything they will need to operate during the event, including generators, extension cords, and trash cans. Please note that we have had 30k attendees in past years, so expect a crowd and bring plenty of inventory. We will be looking for vendors with a faster quick turnaround time to keep lines short.
    • We'll be featuring your brand on our site and social media so please provide high quality images and logos.

Please check out the available volunteer opportunities. We appreciate you helping us bring this event together once again! All volunteers will receive an exclusive Porchfest t-shirt, a ticket for a free drink from concessions, and a complimentary Porchfest branded koozie. Want to volunteer to the max? Sign up for a second (non-overlapping) shift and get an additional free drink ticket.

    About the Event

    On Saturday, May 18, from 12 to 7 pm, local bands are going to get VaHi jamming! Porches throughout the Virginia Highland neighborhood in Atlanta will host 75+ bands for one hour each. Apply to be one of them! We accept all genres of music and we prioritize family friendly tunes.

     

    Application Timeline

    The deadline to apply is March 1. Bands will be notified of acceptance by March 15. The Porchfest Committee will match bands with porch hosts and share the schedule prior to the event.

    About the Event

    This year's Porchfest will be Saturday, May 18! The day kicks off with a Rock n Run jog at 10 am. Bands start playing at 12 pm and end at 6 pm, with a finale performance in John Howell Park from 6 to 7 pm.

     

    If your residence is within the boundaries of the festival map, you can sign up to host a band on your porch. If interested and available, please fill out the following form by April 5.

     

    For safety purposes, we are not accepting porches on the main roads of the event boundaries— Barnett, Virginia Ave, North Highland Ave, and Ponce de Leon Pl.
