Unplug Texas 2026

Join us on October 21 for Unplug Texas Day! We’ll celebrate in Landa Park with a Food Truck Party from 4–7 p.m. featuring Rec & Roll, music, and family fun. Leave the screens behind, enjoy the outdoors, and get active in nature! Unplug Texas Day is an official statewide observance beginning in 2025, created when Governor Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 2232. Led by the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS), this initiative encourages Texans to log off, get outside, and rediscover the value of real-world connections through parks and recreation. Inspired by the successful Unplug Illinois campaign, the movement highlights the essential role parks and recreation play in supporting health, wellness, and community life. Take the pledge, unplug, and play with us on October 21st!
