About the event
Join licensed professional counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Isaac Huddleston, MA, LPC, for an engaging exploration of childhood grief and loss. This practical training helps educators, caregivers, and youth-serving professionals understand how grief impacts children's emotions, behavior, learning, relationships, and overall well-being. Participants will learn how grief presents across developmental stages, recognize common and often overlooked grief reactions, and gain practical strategies for supporting grieving children in classrooms, childcare settings, and caregiving environments. Using a trauma-informed and wellness-centered approach, this session incorporates the 8 Dimensions of Wellness to examine how loss affects the whole child and how supportive adults can foster resilience, emotional safety, and healthy coping. Attendees will leave with actionable tools, communication strategies, and resources they can immediately implement to create supportive environments where grieving children feel understood, connected, and supported.
