Join us at the Cornell Art Museum Saturday, August 1st, for a beautiful summer afternoon of art, conversation, and inspiration with artist Sonya Sanchez Arias, deeply meaningful work is featured in our current exhibition Persistence of Matter.Titled The Road to Unforgettable, this intimate art talk will feature a heartfelt conversation with Sonya, a multidisciplinary artist whose work transforms discarded and reclaimed materials into stunning, thought-provoking pieces that challenge us to see beauty in what the world leaves behind. Sonya will reflect on her creative process, her materials, and the deeper meaning behind her work — and she says it best herself: "Everything we touch leaves a trace. Everything we leave behind remains in conversation with the future."The afternoon begins with a reception at 1:00 PM — enjoy refreshments, explore the gallery, and meet Sonya before the conversation begins at 1:30 PM. Audience questions are warmly welcome. The event is free, but please RSVP and consider donating to the Cornell Art Museum so that we may continue to bring world-class art exhibitions and programs to our community.
