Festival attendees pay $10 per day, and children 12 and under are free. Along with more than 250 exhibiting artists, the Festival features educational demonstrations, interactive arts areas, children's arts activities, music, storytelling, craft beer, and food trucks. In 2018, the Festival was named 5th in the nation (based on artists' self-reported sales) in the category of Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows by Sunshine Artists Magazine, recognized by Alabama Department of Tourism as one of the top-ten events to attend in Alabama in 2018, and by Alabama Magazine as one of the “Best of Bama 2018.” The Festival was featured on the National Endowment of the Arts website as one of the top arts programs in the state. Kentuck has also been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, Southern Living, American Style Magazine, and National Geographic Traveler.Festival proceeds help support the funding of next year’s Kentuck Festival of the Arts and the year-round programming of Kentuck Art Center in Northport's historic downtown district, where resident artists' studios, exhibition spaces, a community clay studio, a community arts classroom, and gallery shop are situated around a courtyard and sculpture garden. The Kentuck Art Center presents regular exhibitions on campus in their two galleries and at Hotel Indigo in Tuscaloosa, showcasing southern folk artists and traditional and contemporary American craft by both established and emerging artists. The 51st Annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts is set for October 15th-16th, 2022 at Kentuck Park in Northport, Alabama. For the festival food courts, we are looking for commercial concession vendors who prepare a variety of foods, desserts, and beverages. The sale of soft drinks and water is reserved for drink trucks managed by Kentuck. The sale of other beverages is allowed. NOTICE: Based on your feedback concerning our pricing structure change in 2019, concessions pricing has changed for the 2021-2022 Kentuck Festival of the Arts. Charges will be calculated at the following rates for vendors selling only food, snack, and dessert menus: • $500 for vendors with operations greater than 10 linear feet (LARGE)• $300 for vendors with operations less than 10 linear feet (SMALL)An additional $150 charge will be added to vendors requesting to be at the Brother Ben stage. This charge is per vehicle/stand. (BB)Charges for vendors selling food, snack, dessert, AND BEVERAGES:• $1000 for vendors with operations greater than 10 linear feet (LARGEBEV)• $600 for vendors with operations less than 10 linear feet (SMALLBEV)An additional $150 charge will be added to vendors requesting to be at the Brother Ben stage. This charge is per vehicle/stand. (BB)Once selected as a vendor, location placement will be honored by time of application received. We strive to have a variety of food represented in each area. For example, if a similar vendor requests the Brother Ben area before you, we will refund you the overpayment and notify you of your placement change to Spoken Word. Please reference the attached map for determining your desired placement. Also, in the event that the 51st Annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts is cancelled, refunds will be distributed. The Concessions Selection Committee chooses successful applicants from all qualified applicants based on a variety of factors including but not limited to the following:• quality of product/foods. Kentuck reserves the right to require samples.• amount of space required. Kentuck may require more specifics about your booth.• appearance of vending booth/display.• visible posting of all prices in letters no less than 3” high and 6’ above the ground.• recommendations of other festival coordinators and health department inspectors.• capacity to serve a high quality product to large groups.• electrical requirements. Please be specific about your needs in your application.• diversity of food types. We particularly are interested in adding breakfast items and regional, ethnic and vegetarian foods to the offerings at Kentuck. As a general guideline, no more than two vendors of the same type of specialty food will be invited to participate.• timely and complete payment of all fees.

You will assist artists who need to take a break from the booths to get food, etc.

Kentuck Park, 3401 Fifth St, Northport, AL. - Must physically be able to rake mulch for 3 hours. Rake and landscape paint provided. Spread mulch and spray paint tree roots over a 7-acre park. Bring work gloves. Lunch is provided for volunteers who work 2 shifts/day.

Kentuck Park, 3401 Fifth St, Northport, AL. - Assisting park layout manager in measuring, hammering stakes, and stringing/labeling booth positions; Please note this position requires the ability to perform manual labor. Lunch is provided for volunteers who work 2 shifts/day.

Will assist with the transport of materials from the Kentuck Art Center to Kentuck Part. Must have own transportation and heavy lifting will be involved.

Will need to pick up food from a designated restaurant and deliver the food to the volunteers at Kentuck Park. Must have own transportation

Assisting with the placement of signs around the park prior to the start of the festival. Please be aware this will involve walking and possible heavy lifting

Will pick up a food order and deliver lunch to the shuttle drivers. Must have own transportation

Will hand out programs to people entering the park and check wristband tickets. You need to be comfortable speaking with people and asking to see their tickets.

Will assist with setting up the artist party which will take place at the Kentuck Art Center (you do not need to come to the park). Please note this position requires the ability to perform manual labor (lifting heavy tables, moving chairs)

Assisting with the breakdown of the festival site. This job will involve a good deal of walking and heavy lifting

Assisting with the setup and maintenance of the VIP Hospitality tent

Assisting children with building a small wooden birdhouse. You would be working under the guidance of the West Alabama Woodworkers Association members.

Pets are not allowed in the park (per city rules) so this person would need to confirm that any animal entering the park is a service animal (service animals may be dogs or mini horses and they will be wearing identification) and be nice but firm while explaining the rules if necessary.

Tuscaloosa-area friends: Do you have an extra bedroom? Guest House? Mother-In-Law suite? Kentuck is looking for some ⭐️super star⭐️ volunteers to host artists during the weekend of the Kentuck Festival of the Arts. Hotels and Airbnbs aren't always accessible to all our artists, even though the festival weekend isn't a home game for the University of Alabama. This is a fantastic way to get to know an artist and help them continue doing what they love. As a small token of Kentuck's appreciation, host families will receive two weekend passes to the 51st Kentuck Festival of the Arts. Part of what makes the Kentuck Festival so special is the community that supports it. Thank you for helping make this festival a heaven of a place year after year!

Will assist with the set and maintenance of the Artist Hospitality Tent

Assist with checking volunteers in and out of the festival and directing them to their assigned location

Will sell 20 oz drinks from a Pepsi drink truck. Must be comfortable handling money and making change.

Assist with the Kentuck Retail tent (selling t-shirts, mugs, commemorative programs, etc.)

The person would be assigned to a job as needed.

Chinese Calligraphy & Arts

Will assist with the creation of badges, artist packets, VIP packets, etc. This volunteer job will be located at Kentuck Art Center at 503 Main Avenue, Northport, AL 35476.

Come get messy and play with Clay! Help kids sculpt, shape, squish and rebuild clay sculptures. Kids of all ages welcome =)

No skills required to help out with paper marbling! Please wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on; this paint in permanent. These volunteers will be working with kids of all ages.

Who doesn't love getting their face painted?! Paint your face, kids faces, paint your friends' faces. So much fun! No painting skills necessary, just a good attitude =)

Will hand out programs to people entering the park and check their wristband tickets. You will need to be comfortable speaking with people and requesting to see their tickets
