Fallen Heroes Tattoo & Piercing returns September 19 for annual fundraiser benefiting Sue’s Gift COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — One day. A lot of tattoos. And this year, the possibility of reaching a $400,000 milestone. The 11th Annual Colorado Springs Tattooathon returns to Fallen Heroes Tattoo & Piercing on Saturday, September 19, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until the last tattoo is finished. Since Tattooathon began in Colorado Springs in 2016, the event has raised $202,017.07 locally for Sue’s Gift, a Colorado nonprofit supporting women facing gynecologic cancer. Over the years, Fallen Heroes expanded Tattooathon to its Florida location. Together, the Colorado Springs and Florida events have now raised $381,961.59. That means this year’s Colorado Springs Tattooathon needs to raise just $18,038.41 to push the combined total past $400,000. And there may be no better place to reach that milestone than where Tattooathon started. The first Colorado Springs Tattooathon raised $4,156 in 2016. Over the next decade, the annual event grew into a community tradition, raising more than $202,000 in Colorado Springs alone. This year’s Colorado Springs event will be the 17th Tattooathon held between the Colorado and Florida locations. If the event raises $18,038.41, Tattooathon will reach $400,000 raised through 17 events. All proceeds from the Colorado Springs Tattooathon benefit Sue’s Gift, which provides support to women throughout Colorado Springs facing gynecologic cancer, including financial assistance for expenses such as insurance deductibles, prescriptions, utilities and housing costs. How to participate Registration is open now for Tattooathon appointments. Participants are strongly encouraged to schedule in advance through the Fallen Heroes registration site. Walk-in tattoos will also be available on the day of the event, although participants should expect a possible wait. The Fallen Heroes team will work to accommodate walk-ins as quickly as possible. Piercings are walk-in only.
