Summer Clay Camps: 2025

Join Amy Smoot to create and play with clay! Students will have fun exploring a variety of hand building techniques to create functional and/or sculptural artworks. Students will receive instruction through each step of the ceramics process from creating to glazing and decorating their work. Building techniques will include slab building, pinching, coiling, stamping and more! All classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of 3. The dates, times, and ages of Clay Camps are as follows: Session A: June 2, 3, 4 ; 9:30-11:30AM Ages 6-9 Session B: June 9, 10, 11; 9:30-11:30AM Ages 10-12 Session C: June 16, 17, 18; 1-3pm; Ages 6-9 Session D: July 7, 8, 9; 9:30-11:30AM; Ages 10-12 Session E: July 14, 15, 16; 9:30-11:30AM; Ages 6-9 About Amy Smoot: Amy Smoot is the Clay Studio manager at Kentuck. She is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery.
