Create a Spring themed mug in this one-day workshop! Students will be shown how to build their mugs out of slabs of clay and will be able to fully customize their creations with personalized Spring images, designs, or textures. Once finished with building, students will paint their mugs with a variety of colorful glazes.
This workshop has two ticket options, an all ages section and an adult section.
All Ages : Sunday, April 21st from 2-4pm
Adult: Friday, April 26th from 5:30-7:30pm
Children 16 and under who are registered for the all ages section must be accompanied by an adult. The adult can purchase their own ticket if they wish to participate in the class. There is a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 12. If the minimum is not met, participants will be refunded.
About Amy Smoot: Amy Smoot is the Clay Studio manager at Kentuck. She is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery.

This class will be held in Kentuck's Clay Studio at 2014 5th Street. The entrance is in the Courtyard of Wonders. Look for the green door and trim! There are two parking lots next to the Courtyard of Wonders, and participants are also welcome to park in Downtown Northport.
