SC Pride is creating a curated Local Maker Area designed specifically for South Carolina artists and craftspeople. This new area offers emerging and established makers an accessible way to bring their work directly to festival attendees, connect with new audiences, and be part of one of the Midlands’ largest celebrations.

 

Each artist will receive a 6' x 2.5' vendor space for a table display. Artists provide their own table, and covered space will be provided to help protect you and your work from the sun.

 

We’re looking for artists and makers who create original, handmade, and distinctive work that adds to the creative energy of the festival.

 

Who can participate:

South Carolina-based artists and craftspeople
Emerging and established makers
Artists selling original or handmade work

 

Guidelines:

Handmade or original artwork only
No mass-produced or wholesale products
No AI-generated artwork
Work should be appropriate for and complement the atmosphere of the SC Pride Festival

 

Important: This is a new opportunity, and we are gauging interest from the local artist community before moving forward. There is no cost to apply, and you will not be charged if the Local Maker Area does not move forward or if you are not selected to participate.

The Famously Hot South Carolina Pride Parade and Festival is the flagship event of SC Pride and one of the most visible public celebrations in South Carolina. It is not just the largest event SC Pride produces. It is one of the largest free public gatherings in the entire state. Pride weekend is a two-day experience anchored to Main Street in Columbia. The Friday evening program features the Pride Parade, with 62+ organizations marching through downtown, followed by the Get Lit Concert headliner performance. Saturday's festival brings together two stages, 65+ vendors, an Ultra VIP Lounge, a Family Pride Area, Health and Wellness resources, an amusement attraction, and headlining entertainment from the Main Stage. In 2025, the Pride season generated 65,000 verified weekend attendees, 1,398,642+ social media views, 20,585 interactions, 226,505 regional co-op billboard impressions across Charleston, Charlotte, and Greenville, 98,435 streaming TV impressions, and 109,658 display and geofencing impressions statewide. These are not projections. These are documented results.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the 2026 Famously Hot South Carolina Pride Festival! Volunteers are essential to creating a welcoming, safe, and successful festival experience. Volunteer opportunities may include event setup and breakdown, guest services, information and hospitality, vendor support, and other event-day needs. Volunteers should be prepared to work outdoors in warm weather, follow festival policies and safety protocols, and assist wherever needed. Additional information about volunteer assignments, schedules, parking, food and beverage policies, and setup and breakdown procedures will be provided to selected volunteers before the festival.
