We are delighted to offer our return to the Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area as our Summer Big Time Birding experience! In mid-July, Goose Pond has so much to offer, including shorebirds, herons/egrets, marsh birds, and so much more!

Parking instructions
We will meet at Spencer Pride CommUnity Center at 5 am and carpool/caravan to arrive at Goose Pond a half hour before sunrise in hopes of experiencing a Common Nighthawk and perhaps even a Barn Owl! More early morning efforts will be directed towards secretive marsh birds!

Big Time Birding
Our goal will be to enjoy a variety of birds from before sunrise to mid-afternoon.
Cost Information
To participate in this event, purchase a $10 ticket. This money supports the work of Spencer Pride, Inc.
What to Bring/Prepare
- Your Lunch
- Refillable Water Bottle
- Insect Repellent
- Suncreen
- Hat
- Sturdy waterproof shoes or boots
- Binoculars (if you have!)
- Rainbow Birders Punchcard (if you have)
- Watch the weather to see if you need rain gear
- Dress in layers as we will be outside in a range of temperatures and conditions
Accessibility Information
This trip will involve hiking unlevel terrains and is not suitable for individuals utilizing a wheelchair or motorized scooter.
There could be some longer walks and we can't guarantee the footing conditions.
Comfort stops will be provided at reasonable intervals throughout the day.
