Pour Over Mug and Dripper with Amy Smoot

Calling all coffee lovers! Build you own pour over set with Amy Smoot on April 30-May 1, 2022 from 9 AM-12 PM. In this workshop, students will utilize templates and slabs to hand-build their own pour over coffee dripper and matching mug. Students will have a variety of shapes and sizes to choose from and will learn the intricacies of making objects fit together. Once building is complete, students will get to decorate their pieces with colorful glazes. This class is for participants 18+ and has a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 10. If the minimum is not met, participants will be refunded. This workshop is non-refundable after supplies have been purchased and the registration deadline passes. Please email mbell@ with any questions. About Amy Smoot: Amy Smoot is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery.   This workshop is sponsored in part by the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
