What happens when the delete key becomes an act of creation? Doug Powell builds portraits out of the keyboards we've thrown away — thousands of keys, one image, hidden in plain sight. Working key by key — he transforms obsolete technology into large-scale mosaics that hover between pixelated abstraction and startling clarity. Step back, and an icon comes into focus. Step closer, and you'll find hidden words, layered language, and the quiet poetry of communication tools gone silent. Join us for a conversation with the Florida-based Doug Powell about turning discarded hardware into lasting, tactile .The afternoon begins with a reception at 1:00 PM — enjoy refreshments, explore the gallery, and meet Doug before the conversation begins at 1:30 PM. Audience questions are welcomed at the end of the conversation. The event is free, but please RSVP and consider donating to the Cornell Art Museum so that we may continue to bring world-class art exhibitions and programs to our community.
