About the event
Art of Pride, a program of San Diego Pride, is pleased to announce Out at the Museum — an evening where queer art, culture, and community take center stage. Out at the Museum is a brand-new Art of Pride experience that brings our community together inside one of San Diego's most iconic cultural spaces: the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
Inaugural Theme: "Be the Muse"
Dress Code: Inspire or Be Inspired – Art of Pride invites you to be the MUSE. For one night, we pay tribute to the generations of queer icons and muses who refused to disappear — who stood boldly in the light, inspired the greatest works of their time, and handed that legacy of visibility down to us.
Join local artists, advocates, and the broader LGBTQ+ community for an evening filled with live music, extraordinary performances, and a silent auction — all set against the backdrop of one of San Diego's most celebrated cultural institutions. Out at the Museum is a night to honor, support, and celebrate one another.
The Prebys Foundation has awarded MCASD “Arts Ecosystem: Venue and Space Grant” to Support Affordable Access for Area Nonprofits. "We are grateful to the Prebys Foundation for providing this opportunity to share our extraordinary venue with the community," said Kathryn Kanjo, the former David C. Copley Director and CEO of MCASD. "The inspiring backdrop of contemporary art and architecture, our oceanside location, and a spirit of creative innovation will elevate community events, attract new audiences for both our partner organizations and the Museum, build bridges between the region's diverse neighborhoods, and support San Diego's cultural economy."
Join us for a night of creativity, connection, and Pride as we celebrate the power of queer expression in the heart of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Terms & Conditions
Event Attendee Terms & Conditions · 21+ Event
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern attendance at Out at the Museum (the “Event”), a fundraising gala presented by Art of Pride, a program of San Diego Pride, held at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD), Axline Court, 700 Prospect Street, La Jolla, CA 92037. By purchasing a ticket, accepting an invitation, or entering the Event premises, you (“Attendee”) agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
1. Age Requirement — 21+ Event
This Event is restricted to guests 21 years of age and older. No exceptions will be made, and no minors, including infants, will be admitted.
Valid government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID) is required at check-in. IDs must be current and unexpired; photocopies or digital/photo IDs on a mobile device are not accepted.
Admission and alcohol service may be refused to any guest who cannot produce valid ID or whose ID appears altered, fraudulent, or does not match the guest.
2. Tickets & Admission
Entry requires a valid, pre-purchased ticket or confirmed invitation. Tickets are non-transferable except as expressly permitted by Art of Pride and are non-refundable; all sales are final.
Art of Pride and MCASD reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any guest, at any time and without refund, for failure to comply with these Terms, disruptive or unsafe conduct, or at the reasonable discretion of event staff or security.
Lost, stolen, or forgotten tickets are the responsibility of the Attendee. Please bring a printed or digital copy of your confirmation along with valid photo ID.
The Event may be photographed for security or capacity purposes; misrepresenting your identity or ticket status is grounds for immediate removal.
3. Alcohol Service & Conduct
Alcoholic beverages will be served responsibly in accordance with California ABC regulations. Service may be refused to any guest who appears intoxicated, and staff reserve the right to stop service at any time.
Outside food and beverage, including alcohol, may not be brought onto museum premises.
Guests are expected to drink responsibly. Attendees are encouraged to arrange a rideshare, designated driver, or other safe transportation in advance.
Disorderly conduct, harassment, or behavior that endangers other guests, staff, artwork, or the venue will result in immediate removal without refund and may be referred to venue security or law enforcement.
4. Museum Visitor Guidelines
Because the Event is held within MCASD’s galleries and public spaces, all standard museum visitor guidelines apply in addition to Event-specific rules:
Artwork: Please do not touch works of art on display. Be mindful of safety barriers around certain pieces.
Bags: Guests may wear bags and backpacks on the front of the body while in the museum. MCASD is not responsible for lost or stolen items; complimentary self-service lockers are available for larger items.
Photography: Photos and video without flash are welcome unless otherwise noted. Selfie sticks, tripods, light panels, and professional equipment are not permitted, and staff or security features may not be photographed.
Food & beverage: Outside of designated Event catering areas, food and drink are not permitted in the galleries.
Smoking: Smoking and e-cigarettes are prohibited anywhere on museum grounds.
Accessibility: MCASD entrances are wheelchair accessible; service animals (as defined by the ADA) are welcome. Pets, comfort animals, and emotional support animals are not permitted.
Attendees agree to follow the reasonable direction of MCASD staff, security personnel, and Art of Pride event staff at all times.
5. Assumption of Risk & Liability
Attendance is voluntary. By entering the Event, Attendee assumes all risk of personal injury, illness, or loss of or damage to personal property arising from attendance.
Art of Pride, San Diego Pride, MCASD, their affiliates, sponsors, staff, and volunteers are not liable for any injury, loss, theft, or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Event, except to the extent caused by their gross negligence or willful misconduct, and to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Attendees are responsible for their own belongings at all times; the venue does not offer a coat or bag check beyond the self-service lockers described above.
6. Photography, Video & Media Release
Art of Pride and its designated photographers/videographers may capture photo and video of the Event and its attendees for promotional, editorial, and archival use across print, digital, and social media. By attending, Attendee grants Art of Pride and San Diego Pride a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such likeness for these purposes. Guests who prefer not to be photographed should notify event staff upon arrival.
7. Health & Safety
Attendees agree not to attend the Event while experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness. Art of Pride and MCASD may implement additional health and safety measures as needed and reserve the right to deny entry to any guest posing a health or safety risk to others.
8. Changes & Cancellation
Art of Pride reserves the right to modify Event details, including but not limited to date, time, program, and honorees, or to cancel the Event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. In the event of cancellation, ticket refund policies will be communicated separately to purchasers.
9. Acknowledgment
By purchasing a ticket, RSVPing, or entering the Event premises, Attendee confirms they are at least 21 years of age, have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, and agree to comply with them in full, along with all posted museum policies.
