October Events at Hessel School House

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM ADULT CRAFT TIME DIY Candy Dispenser and Bowl Making Want to make Trick-or-Treating a little more fun this year? Learn how to create your own candy bowl or dispenser! Using various materials, artist Marissa Wissner will share her love of “upcycling” by showing you how to design and put together your bowl or dispenser! Materials and tools will be provided, so come and enjoy an afternoon of upcycling together! Class Fee: $40 Space is limited to 12 people. Register early for this fun crafting event!

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Fall Foraging Workshop Explore the wild side of the Les Cheneaux area during a hands-on Fall Foraging Workshop with Logan Ferguson of the Chippewa Luce Mackinac Conservation District. Meet at the Hessel School House, where participants will carpool to a nearby location and head into the woods to learn about seasonal wild foods, plants, and foraging basics. $15 per person Space is limited to 20 participants, so early registration is encouraged. Come ready to explore, learn, and discover what the autumn woods have to offer!

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM SPOOKY STARRY NIGHT PAINT N SIP (ADULTS) Want to spend a fun afternoon with your friends? Bring your own brew as artist Karen Mazzoline shows you how to paint “Starry Night” in a SPOOKY way! Learn how to paint impasto style using bold colors and textures! All materials and instruction are provided – just come and enjoy the art of creating!

Using various materials, artist Karen Mazzoline will share her love of all things fall and spooky! Learn how to create silhouettes, webs, and fall trees! Treats and materials will be provided!
