November Watercolors (4 sessions) Lisa Ober

4-Week Watercolor Class (Nov, 3,10,17,24) Make-up classes available on Thursday mornings at 10am. Tuesdays at 1:30 PM Learning from the Masters. This four-week watercolor class explores the luminous glass still lifes of Lisa Ober. Students will focus on transparency, reflections, cast shadows, and the disciplined value structure required to render glass convincingly. The first two weeks will focus on reproducing a glass still life to understand light refraction and reflective highlights. In the final weeks, students will create an original still life featuring glass objects and controlled light sources. This class builds confidence in handling transparency and high-contrast value relationships. What You’ll Learn: Painting transparent glass Reflections and refractions Cast shadows and light direction Clean edge control Supply List (Required): tube watercolor paints basic colors, to include Yellow Ochre and Paynes Grey. Brushes: large, medium, and small round brushes Watercolor paper (140 lb cold press recommended) Paper is the most important purchase. Approved Brands are, Canson, Artist's Loft and Arches. Palette Pencil and eraser White gouache All other supplies are provided.
