November Acrylics (4 sessions) Mitchell Johnson - Contemporary Landscape & Architecture

4-Week Acrylic Class (Nov, 4,11,18,25) Wednesdays at 10am Learning from the Masters. Make-up classes available on Thursdays. This four-week acrylic class explores the bold, contemporary landscapes and architectural compositions of Mitchell Johnson. Students will focus on simplified forms, color relationships, and strong structural composition. During the first two weeks, students will reproduce a Johnson-inspired scene to understand how color blocks and shape design create impact. In the final weeks, students will create an original landscape or architectural composition emphasizing clarity, balance, and modern color structure. A strong class for artists ready to simplify while strengthening design. What You’ll Learn: Simplifying landscape and architecture Strong color block relationships Compositional balance Clean edges and structure Supply List (Required): Acrylic paints (intermediate to professional grade only) Must include Burnt Umber and Yellow Ochre Brushes: Large, medium, and small round and flat brushes Canvas: 11×14 canvas board or stretched canvas All other supplies are provided. Paint Quality Note: Recommended acrylic paint brands: Winsor & Newton, Grumbacher, or Golden. Intermediate to professional grade paints are required. Beginner or student-grade paints are not recommended, as paint quality makes a significant difference in results.
