Health & safety
Food vendors (this changed as of last week) As of July 1, 2026, all mobile food vendors must be licensed with the Texas Department of State Health Services instead of getting permits from local health departments. This replaces the old Bastrop County permit process. Practically, that means: Texas Department of State Health Services Every food truck/trailer vendor needs a current DSHS Mobile Food Vendor license (not a city/county permit) before your event Vendors are sorted into license types based on food preparation activities — types range from prepackaged, non-TCS snack vendors up to those preparing and serving TCS (time/temperature control for safety) food to order Texas Department of State Health Services Since local jurisdictions can no longer issue mobile food permits as of July 1, any vendor still relying on an old city/county permit is no longer compliant Wichita Falls Get proof of current DSHS license from each vendor before they book — add this to your vendor application/Terms doc If a vendor doesn't have one yet: they can still operate temporarily if they had an existing local license, submitted their DSHS application, paid fees, and carry the application summary/receipt on the vehicle — but vendors with no license anywhere in Texas cannot operate until their pre-licensing inspection is done Texas Department of State Health Services Non-food vendors (tables/goods) No state license required — this is more about basic event safety: 10x10 tent must be weighted/staked (no cinderblocks unstaked, wind is real in open lawns) Vendor provides own power if needed (you already have this in your $90/$200 pricing) No open flame beyond approved food prep equipment General event safety Certificate of Insurance (COI) from every vendor naming Neighborhood Social as additional insured — you already have this in your Terms Your own general liability policy (still on your to-do list) Clear vendor spacing/fire lane access for emergency vehicles at the amenity center First aid kit on site, plus a designated point of contact (you or your brother) during the event If serving alcohol at any point — separate liquor liability consideration, flagged earlier
