About the event
Launching in 2026, Handmade Arcade’s new Modern Craft Market, supported by Contemporary Craft and Pittsburgh Glass Center, is a juried shopping event celebrating where traditional craftsmanship meets cutting-edge design. This new Handmade Arcade-hosted market will connect shoppers, craft collectors, and retail and industry partners with some of the best contemporary craft makers and artists from around the country.
The 2026 Modern Craft Market will feature over 100 makers and artists representing twelve states, including Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Maine, and New York. The makers will sell contemporary, handcrafted goods spanning a wide variety of artistic categories, including furniture, glass, basketry, ceramics, wearable and decorative fiber and textiles, jewelry, metal, and more.
The Modern Craft Market is supported by PA Creative Industries and is part of Handwork 2026.

Parking instructions
The David L. Lawrence Convention Center (DLCC) is located in Downtown Pittsburgh, and there are plenty of parking garages and on-street parking spaces near the venue. The closest garage is the DLCC Parking Garage, though space fills up fast. The Grant Street Transportation Center is a two block/six-minute walk from the DLCC. The Smithfield & Liberty Garage is a four block/eight-minute walk from the DLCC. We recommend using the ParkPGH website or app for real-time parking availability and information.

With over 100 makers and an expected 5,000+ attendees, we need your help with event set-up, ticketing, attendee support, maker booth-sitting, and more.
What to Expect:
-All shifts are 3 hours or less, except for limited Volunteer Shift Lead roles
-Both stationary and mobile volunteer roles are available
-Accessible volunteer roles available based on individual volunteer accessibility needs
Volunteers will Receive:
-The chance to interact with some of the best contemporary craft makers in the region
-15 free tickets to our Modern Craft Market raffle
-Snacks in our Volunteer & Staff Lounge
-One entry per volunteer shift worked to an exclusive volunteer drawing for a $150 gift card to a Pittsburgh maker business
