It is designed for anyone who wishes to gain a foundational understanding of Excel whether they are truly new to its use or simply wish to “fill in the gaps” of their knowledge. Special emphasis will be given to taking the mystery out of formulas and functions. Class format will provide time for the instructor to recommend best practices, explain new concepts, introduce shortcuts, and answer questions. Participants will have time to practice apply new skills to realworld scenarios without feeling rushed or frustrated. TOPICS - Navigating and performing common tasks in Excel, such as opening, viewing, editing, saving, and printing worksheets - Using best practices and shortcuts in Excel - Quickly selecting cells, ranges, columns, rows, sheets & multiples - Locating common and hidden commands in the Ribbon - Customizing the Quick Access Toolbar on the fly - Building worksheets from scratch - Understanding how math is done in an Excel spreadsheet - Converting written formulas into Excel format - Applying the Order of Operations to multi-step equations - Identifying Excel functions and deciphering their syntax - Applying the 6 most common functions to various scenarios - Reusing a single formula across multiple rows or columns without introducing addressing errors - Modifying worksheet data and structure quickly and easily - Using the Paste Special command to transform data - Controlling the appearance of worksheets through formatting - Managing three-dimensional, multi-sheet/tab workbooks - Printing workbook contents INSTRUCTOR Barb Hansen
