The MelaDen Presents The Melanin Market Shop Local. Support Black-owned Businesses. Build Community. The Melanin Market is a curated community marketplace celebrating local Black-owned businesses, creatives, makers, and entrepreneurs. Each market is designed to bring our community together to shop, connect, discover something new, and pour directly into local businesses. Whether you’re looking for something special, supporting a friend, or simply want to spend time surrounded by good people and good energy, there’s something here for you. What to Expect ~A curated selection of local Black-owned businesses ~Food, drinks, and treats ~Opportunities to connect with local entrepreneurs and community members ~Giveaways, raffles, and other surprises ~A welcoming, community-centered atmosphere Admission is FREE. Interested in vending? Vendors can apply through this event page. Vendor spaces are limited and applications are subject to approval. Come shop local, meet your neighbors, discover new favorites, and be part of the community.

The MelaDen is bringing together a curated mix of Black-owner businesses, creatives, makers, service providers, and entrepreneurs for our Melanin Market.

We intentionally limit duplicate vendor categories so each business has room to stand out. Applications are reviewed based on event fit, availability, and maintaining a balanced vendor mix.Because this is a curated market, we may limit or decline applications when a product or service category is already represented.

A NOTE ABOUT OUR MARKETS The MelaDen is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization. No one at The MelaDen is paid to host or coordinate these events. Vendor fees are used strictly to cover the costs of producing the event, including required permits, venue or site expenses, staffing, equipment, marketing, and other event-related costs. We do not charge vendor fees as a source of personal income. Our marketing budget depends on the funds available for each event. When vendor participation is low, there may be little or no funding available for paid advertising, which means our ability to reach shoppers beyond our existing Instagram and Facebook audiences is limited. As a nonprofit, The MelaDen is also subject to financial transparency requirements. Financial information and reports may be requested in accordance with applicable nonprofit requirements. We appreciate every vendor who helps make these community events possible. Your participation helps us continue creating spaces where local businesses, creatives, and community members can connect and grow.
