Touchstone Center for Crafts invites artists and makers to apply for Maker Days at Touchstone by the Falls, a free, all‑ages community series celebrating hands‑on artmaking, live demonstrations, and a juried maker market held outdoors in downtown Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania.

 

Maker Days create an inviting, high‑traffic environment where visitors can meet artists, watch work being made, participate in creative activities, and shop directly from makers—all in a beautiful, walkable destination that attracts both local residents and tourists.

 

Touchstone Center for Crafts is one organization with two complementary places for creativity:

  • Our Farmington campus, where immersive workshops, residencies, and exhibitions support deep learning and skill‑building
  • Touchstone by the Falls in Ohiopyle, where markets, demonstrations, and community events expand access to craft

Maker Days are part of Touchstone’s broader mission to support artists, increase access to craft, and build pathways into deeper creative engagement.

Artist Booth Fees

Artist Booth Space (10’ x 10’ | per day)

  • Non‑Member Rate: $80 per day
  • Touchstone Member Rate: $60 per day
  • Scholarships are available for emerging artists/makers.

There is no application fee. Artists keep 100% of their sales.

 
Touchstone Member Multi‑Day Discounts
Discounts apply per day. And will be applied via a discount code after artist acceptance.

 

Members get the following discounts: 
2 days $5 off/day or $55/day
3-4 days $10 off/day or $50/day
5 days $15 off/day or $45/day
6 days $18 off/day or $42/day

 
Touchstone Membership
Touchstone uses a belonging‑centered membership model. Membership categories reflect who members are—not levels of access or status. All members receive core benefits because supporting Touchstone means belonging to the full organization and its mission.

 

Membership benefits apply across all Touchstone programs and locations, including both Touchstone by the Falls and Touchstone’s Farmington campus.

What Artists Receive

  • Outdoor booth space for up to a 10’ x 10’ setup at a well‑promoted, high‑visibility event
  • Opportunity to sell original, handmade work
  • Direct engagement with a diverse audience of local residents and tourists (1.5 million+ attendes/year)
  • Support from Touchstone staff on event days
  • Option to demonstrate artistic process or engage informally with visitors
  • Option to offer hands-on art activities or collaborative art activities 
  • Artists provide tents, weights, and display materials. Electricity is not available.

Notification Date: Rolling. Applications that include the first Maker Days (May 30) will be notified on or before May 12, 2026.

Event Overview Maker Days at Touchstone by the Falls is a juried, outdoor artist market held on selected dates from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The event takes place outdoors and will occur rain or shine. 2. Outdoor Event & Weather Policy This is an outdoor event, and artists must be prepared for varying weather conditions. The event will take place rain or shine. Booth fees are non‑refundable due to weather, including rain, wind, or temperature conditions. Artists are responsible for bringing appropriate coverings, weights, and setup materials to safely operate their booth. 3. Booth Setup Requirements Artists must provide their own tent, tables, displays, weights, and all necessary setup materials. Tents must be properly weighted in accordance with safety standards. Booths must remain set up and open for the entire duration of the event, unless otherwise approved by event staff. Early breakdown is not permitted without prior approval, except in the case of emergency. 4. Artwork & Eligibility All work must be original, handmade, and designed by the applying artist. Commercially manufactured, mass-produced, or resale items are not permitted. Artists may only sell work consistent with what was submitted and approved through the application. Touchstone reserves the right to remove work that does not meet these standards. 5. Jury Process All applications are reviewed through a juried selection process. Acceptance is based on quality of craftsmanship, originality, booth presentation, category balance, and alignment with the mission of Touchstone Center for Crafts. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. 6. Booth Fees & Payments There is no application fee. Booth fees are charged per day, as follows: $60 per day for Touchstone members; $80 per day for non‑members. Touchstone Members selecting multiple dates will be eligible for multi‑day discounts, as communicated in the application or acceptance materials. Booth fees are due upon acceptance and must be paid by the stated deadline to secure participation. 7. Cancellations & No‑Shows If an accepted artist cancels after payment, booth fees are non‑refundable. Failure to appear without prior notice may affect eligibility for future events. Touchstone reserves the right to cancel participation due to safety concerns or policy violations. 8. Artist Demonstrations Artists may be invited to offer live demonstrations as part of Maker Days. Demonstrations must be safe, appropriate for a public setting, and comply with all venue policies. Touchstone reserves the right to approve, schedule, or decline demonstration proposals based on space, safety, and program needs. 9. Liability & Insurance Artists participate at their own risk. Touchstone Center for Crafts, its staff, volunteers, and partners are not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of artwork or personal property. Artists are responsible for their own insurance coverage and must add Touchstone Center for Crafts as a certificate holder. 10. Marketing & Promotion Submitted images and artist information may be used for event promotion, including website, social media, email, and printed materials. Credit will be given whenever possible. 11. Conduct & Professionalism Artists are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner toward staff, volunteers, fellow artists, and visitors. Touchstone reserves the right to remove any artist whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or inconsistent with event values. 12, Pennsylvania Sales Tax All artists selling taxable goods at Maker Days at Touchstone by the Falls are responsible for complying with Pennsylvania sales tax laws. Artists must hold a valid Pennsylvania Sales Tax License at the time of the event or have legally applied for one prior to selling. Artists are solely responsible for collecting, reporting, and remitting all applicable Pennsylvania sales tax. Touchstone Center for Crafts does not collect sales tax on behalf of participating artists. 13. Agreement By submitting an application, the artist confirms that: All information provided is accurate All work is original and handmade They understand and agree to all event terms and conditions
