Lula's 1st Chili Cook-Off is just one of the many events planned for the City of Lula's 150th Sesquicentennial celebrations in 2026. Presented by the City of Lula, Lula Development Authority, Lula Ladies, and Historical Society of Lula Bellton, this event lets the community celebrate with a chili contest.
There is a $25 entry fee for Applicants to compete (a 2 gallon minimum of Chili) in the Chili Cook-off to win prizes from both judges and the community; more chili could increases your chances.
Community Guest will pay $5 to sample all the chilis and get a drink, with extra refreshments available for purchase. All proceeds benefit local organizations. Join us for a memorable kickoff!

Parking at the Lula Depot may be limited during City of Lula events, but additional lots and street parking are available throughout Lula.
Health & safety
Chili Cook-off Applicants/Contestants must display all chili ingredients for allergy awareness but not the measurements. All food safety & Temperature requirements must be followed!
Please be courteous at all Lula events—harmful behavior, including fighting, use of firearms, drug usage or foul language, etc., is prohibited.

Chili is defined as any type of meat or combination of meats prepared with chili peppers and assorted spices. While beans are allowed, rice and pasta are not permitted.
This application pertains to the City of Lula’s inaugural Chili Cook-off, an event held as part of our Sesquicentennial yearlong celebration.
Individuals of all ages, businesses, organizations, and teams are invited to participate in this competition. Prizes will be awarded for Judges’ selections of first, second, and third place, as well as for the Community Choice award.
We invite you to join us and showcase your chili recipe to the Lula community.

Attendees will be required to adhere to the same rules as contestants. As this is a community event and Family Friendly: be courteous at all Lula events—harmful behavior, including fighting, use of firearms/weapons, drug usage or foul language, etc., is prohibited.
