Ceramic Love Mugs with Amy Smoot

Create a love themed mug in this one day workshop! Students will be shown how to build their mugs out of slabs of clay and will be able to fully customize their creations with personalized designs and textures. Once finished, students will paint their mugs with colorful glazes. This workshop has an adult session and kid session. The adult session is February 3rd from 2-5pm. The kid session (ages 6-12) is February 3rd from 10-12pm. About Amy Smoot: Amy Smoot is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery.  Amy began teaching for Kentuck in 2021 and join Kentuck's staff as Clay Studio Manager in 2023.
