About the event
Join the performers of West Coast Krampus and Krampus Bremerton as they storm Vancouver Christmas Market for a full‑scale Krampuslauf through the holiday lights and stalls. Watch the procession wind through the heart of the market, then meet the creatures up close for photos, mischief, and all the festive chaos you can handle. Rooted in centuries of Alpine folklore, the Krampuslauf brings the Bavarian spirit of Krampus to life — a reminder that the season belongs to everyone who’s ever been just a little bit naughty. And if there’s anywhere in the Pacific Northwest where this tradition truly belongs, it’s here. Advanced purchase required. Come witness it.

Health & safety
Staying healthy and safe is just as important as looking great in costume. Long hours in heavy fabrics, wigs, or armor can lead to dehydration faster than people expect, especially when excitement and activity make it easy to forget to drink water. Pair that with drinking alcohol while suited up, and the risks climb — reduced awareness, overheating, and impaired balance can turn a fun night into a dangerous one. Attendees need to hydrate often, pace themselves, and listen to their bodies so they can enjoy the experience safely from start to finish.

Krampuslauf Vancouver at the Vancouver Christmas Market brings the dark, theatrical energy of Alpine folklore into one of the city’s most iconic holiday settings. Produced by West Coast Krampus, the procession transforms the market with costumed performers, winter spirits, bells, masks, and the unmistakable spectacle of Krampus tradition. Performers are at the heart of the experience — creating the movement, atmosphere, and memorable interactions that bring the Krampuslauf to life.

This outdoor public event welcomes experienced Krampus performers and approved costumed participants who are comfortable engaging with a diverse audience that includes adults, families, and children. Performers are encouraged to fully inhabit their characters, participate in the procession, pose for photos, and interact with guests while maintaining awareness, consent, and respect for personal boundaries. The goal is a bold and immersive theatrical presence that feels exciting, playful, and authentic without becoming aggressive, unsafe, or intimidating.

Krampuslauf Vancouver is produced by West Coast Krampus in coordination with the Vancouver Christmas Market and event partners, with designated staff, volunteers, and safety personnel supporting the procession throughout the evening. Performers are expected to follow all event rules and instructions, remain aware of costume and mobility limitations, and contribute to a cooperative, professional, and respectful environment.

Participation is subject to approval, and accepted performers must complete event-day check-in and attend the mandatory pre-event gathering before joining the procession. Photography and filming should be expected throughout the event as part of festival promotion and documentation.

If you are passionate about Krampus culture, Alpine folklore, costuming, and public performance, we invite you to apply and help bring Krampuslauf Vancouver to life at the Vancouver Christmas Market.
