The Knox Theatre is a standing symbol and landmark in Warrenton, Georgia. Go for a drive down our Main Street and it's impossible to miss. The theatre opened in 1937 as sound revitalized the film industry, and it saw a lot of success from the 30's through the 60's as a scores of different movies and live shows were hosted there. The Knox was the home to countless first dates and amazing memories for locals. However, to the dismay of the Town of Warrenton and its years of patrons, the beloved Knox Theatre closed permanently in 1997. Through the years, Hometown Warrenton has been trying to raise money to renovate, restore, and reopen the building to the public. Through funds raised so far, we were able to repair the marquis, redo the external lights, and thoroughly clean up the inside. The goal for this new Festival is to raise funds for the Knox Theatre Restoration Fund. 100% of proceeds earned will be put directly into the Knox Fund in an effort to restore it to its former glory, and reopen it with the aim of making memories for future generations, and the past ones that enjoyed it years before. That includes all sponsorships, raffle ticket purchases, merchandise sales, general donations, and more! The Festival will be held around the Knox Theatre to keep it the star of the show.
