Please read the Following:
1. Each piece must be clearly labeled with your name or maker’s mark.
2. Please list all clay bodies and glazes by brand name when checking out
3. No homemade glazes or wild clays can be fired.
4. Work with materials other than clay or glaze will also not be fired.
5. Please allow 2-4 weeks for your work to be fired.
6. We will contact you through email when your work is ready to pick up.
7. No glaze on the bottom of your work, stilting will not be offered
8. Kentuck is not responsible for fired results or damages of any kind.
9. We reserve the right to refuse firing services for any reason.
10. Makers assume full responsibility for the replacement and repair for any equipment damaged due to melting clay (wrong cone was given)
11. Turnaround time is approximate and we cannot be held to deadlines.
12. Any work that does not meet our firing guidelines will not be fired. See details below:
Greenware work for the bisque firing:
1. You must know what clay body and other materials used what temperature everything matures at.
2. Work can be dropped off wet but will not be fired until bone dry.
3. Must not be thicker than 1 inch anywhere, ½ inch preferred.
4. Must not contain anything other than cone 6 clay
5. Must not contain armatures, paper or other sculpture tools
6. Must not be painted with any glaze
7. All hollow work must have holes for air to escape
8. Must have your name clearly carved on the bottom
9. Must fit on a half shelf with kiln posts. The base of the piece can not be larger than 11 X 21in
10. Must be no taller than 25 inches
11. Work must stand on its own and stable, rounded bottoms or anything that rolls around will not be fired.
Glaze ware for the glaze firing:
1. Must be 100% clean of glaze on the bottom and a minimum of 1/4 in on the sides of the foot.
2. Must not be greenware. All glazed work must already be bisquefired.
3. You must know the clay and glaze materials used on the work and what temperature they both mature at.
4. Must have your name clearly visible on the bottom.
5. Must fit on a half shelf with kiln posts. The base of the piece can not be larger than 11 X 21in
6. Must not be glazed with any unapproved glazes.
7. Stilts and bead racks are not provided.
8. Glaze must not be extra thick or flakey.
9. Work must stand on its own and stable, rounded bottoms or anything that rolls around will not be fired.
10. Extremely small and/or flat work (ornaments) must not exceed 25 pieces per glaze firing.
Kentuck will not fire work that has the following glazes:

Opalescent, Overglazes, lusters, mother of pearl
Amaco LG Series
Mayco Stroke & Coat or Speckled Stroke & Coat on greenware. Must be on bisque
Mayco Foundations
Cobblestone by Mayco
Elements and Chunkies by Mayco
Snowfall Glazes
Mayco Flux below the rim
Low Fire Glazes (cones 08, 07, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01, 1, 2, 3, 4)
French Dimensions
Raku Glazes
Crawl glazes
Lava glazes
Anything that is very runny and will stick pots to the kiln shelf
