This is a FREE event, and we look forward to welcoming you on June 15th from 4pm-9pm Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of the remaining enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, TX. It is also called Emancipation Day or Juneteenth Independence Day. The name “Juneteenth” references the date of the holiday, combining the words “June” and “nineteenth,” as the traditional holiday, which is now a federal holiday in the United States, recognized on June 19th.
