June Acrylics (4 Sessions) Vincent Van Gogh- Expressive Brushwork & Movement

4-Week Acrylic Class (June, 3,10,17,24) In this four-week acrylic painting class, students will study the expressive, energetic style of Vincent van Gogh. This class focuses on bold brushwork, texture, movement, and emotional use of color. Students will begin by reproducing a Van Gogh-inspired work to understand his brushstrokes and compositional rhythm. In the final weeks, students will create an original painting using expressive techniques to convey emotion and movement through paint. This class encourages creative freedom and confidence. What You’ll Learn: Expressive, directional brushwork Creating movement and texture Emotional use of color Dynamic composition Supply List (Required): Acrylic paints (intermediate to professional grade only) Must include Burnt Umber and Yellow Ochre Brushes: Large, medium, and small round and flat brushes Canvas: 11×14 canvas board or stretched canvas Acrylic matte medium All other supplies are provided. Paint Quality Note: Recommended acrylic paint brands: Winsor & Newton, Grumbacher, or Golden. Intermediate to professional grade paints are required. Beginner or student-grade paints are not recommended, as paint quality makes a significant difference in results.
