About John Tilley:
John Tilley received his BFA in commercial art and MFA with a concentration in printmaking from the University of Alabama in the 1960s. However, he did not immediately jump into teaching art. For almost 35 years, he was the Director of Volunteer Service and Public Affairs Officer at the Tuscaloosa Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. He has been teaching watercolors for over 40 years. Tilley has taught for UA’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Shelton State Community College, and Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority. In recent years, John Tilley served as a Kentuck Artist in the Schools, demonstrating painting techniques to elementary students.
This event is made possible in part by a grant from Alabama State Council on the Arts.
