Home School Field Trip Day

During this field trip families will learn all about the wonderful world of wavelengths- from color, sound, to light, and how wavelengths are found all around us! Create your own experience from our program choices below. Spots are first come, first serve. Check-in begins at 9:45 in the Museum lobby. Once checked-in you will receive a bracelet indicating your admission to all programs for the day. “Good Vibrations” - During this STEAM activity you will investigate the wavelengths that make up both color and sound by creating your own vibrant melodies! Recommended for grades K-12th with program options for K-3rd and 4th-12th. “Chasing Sunlight” - During this planetarium show you will travel into space to help save the Sun’s light from fading while learning about the nature and behavior of light! Recommended for grades K-3rd. “Looking Through the Lens” - During this planetarium show you will explore the history of the telescope and how light wavelengths affect what we see in space. Recommended for grades 4th-12th. “True Colors” - During this nature trail tour you will discover what makes nature so colorful and learn about the impacts of light spectrum wavelengths on the environment. Recommended for grades K-12th with program options for K-3rd and 4th-12th.
