About the event
During this field trip families will learn all about volcanoes- from quiet formations to violent eruptions and everything in between! Volcanoes are located on almost every continent on Earth and exist on other planets and moons in our solar system. Come join us as we explore and learn more at MAS! Create your own experience from our program choices below. Spots are first come, first serve. Check-in begins at 9:45 in the Museum lobby. Once checked-in you will receive a sticker indicating your admission to all programs for the day. “Explosive Art” - During this STEAM activity you will investigate volcanic eruptions and create art through a special chemical reaction. Recommended for grades K-12th with program options for K-3rd and 4th-12th. “Trip to Mars” - During this planetarium show you will travel to Mars and discover its amazing features such as a giant volcano and canyon system! Recommended for grades K-3rd. “Dynamic Earth” - During this planetarium show you will explore Earth’s dynamic atmosphere, biosphere, and geosphere. Recommended for grades 4th-12th. “Mountains of Magma” - During this Science on a Sphere program you will learn about the formation and inner workings of volcanoes here on Earth and other places in our solar system. Recommended for grades K-12th with program options for K-3rd and 4th-12th.
