About the event
The Floral City Strawberry Festival is held annually the first weekend in March in Floral Park in Floral City. The festival celebrates its tasty namesake with a full weekend of fun that has been a local tradition for generations. The 34th Annual Floral City Strawberry Festival will feature over 200 vendors, food trucks, 2 kid zones, a beer & wine garden and non-stop live entertainment, including the Prince & Princess Strawberry Pageant and ever popular pie eating contests. Admission is $5 for adults, 12 & under are free. Free parking and shuttle buses are available at the Citrus County Auditorium at 3610 S. Florida Ave., Inverness.

Booth space is sold as 10 feet long and 10 feet wide. There is no discount on additional booth spaces. All work must be original and handmade by (you) the craftsman. Webster’s Dictionary defines handmade as an item made by hand or by a hand process. Crafts are defined as works made by hand or with the use of simple tools, showing imagination and the mark of the crafts person’s individuality. Items sold must have some type of skill or craft applied to the product and must contain at least 50% original work that defines it as unique. All crafts displayed for sale must be substantively produced by the hands, using traditional non-computer assisted or mechanical means that remove the actual guidance of the crafters' hands. Tying a bow around a wholesale item, gluing a clasp, pin, artificial flowers or rhinestone to a wholesale item, or adding a patch or applique to an article of clothing, is not considered a handmade craft and is not permitted. Mass produced food items are not considered a craft and shall not be sold by vendors in the craft portion of the festival. No mold-made or repeated items with only slight variations permitted. No work which has been made with commercial kits, purchased molds, patterns, plans or prefabricated pieces is allowed. Examples of ineligible items, listed below. This does not constitute a complete list: Commercially manufactured art Work assembled (wholly or in part) from commercially available kits Two-dimensional art such as paintings, prints, or photographs Mixed media work that uses paint and canvas as its primary medium Screen-printed material Etchings or web or sheet-fed offset printed work Works that incorporates materials acquired from the killing of endangered species Elephant/mammoth ivory (this includes fossilized ivory) Dried or silk flower arrangements Books Apparel (this includes hats) Bonsai Food Embellished commercially-made objects (such as T-shirts, hats, sunglasses, note cards, etc.) .

A MINOR food vendor is defined by selling one item only (popcorn, pizza, shaved ice, nuts, etc.). Food vendors may only sell non-alcoholic beverages. Beverages such as water, soda, juice are not counted towards menu items. Only items you list will be able to be sold the day of the event. No exceptions. Food vendors will be responsible to meet all guidelines for temporary food service as set forth by the Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) or the Florida Department of Consumer and Agricultural Services (FDACS). Food vendors shall wear gloves and follow hand washing procedures set forth by the DBPR and FDACS.

Little Miss Strawberry Princess (ages 4-6) and Miss Strawberry Princess (ages 7-12) will be held Saturday, March 6th 2021.  The pageant will begin immediately following opening ceremonies on the morning of Saturday March the 6th.   All pageant participates will need to check in with pageant officials beginning at 8:30am, no later than 8:45am.  Pageant officials will be located to the left of the main stage.  

Pageant registration fee (is) $10 per applicant. This fee is non-refundable.  Pageant fee will be processed once application is approved.  Please note, gate/admission fee ($5 children 13 & over/adults; 12 & under free) is still required to attend the Florida Strawberry Festival.  The $10 pageant fee is in addition to the gate/admission fee. 

 

Please remember, the Florida Strawberry Princess Pageant is not a highly competetive event.  This pageant has been created as a fun, delightful event for the entire family.
