The streets of Historic Downtown Bryan transform into one big stage on the First Friday of each month with live music, performances, art demonstrations, and unique & interactive events and activities! Plus, all your favorite Downtown Bryan shops & restaurants stay open late for the evening. This is the place to be on the First Friday of each month in Aggieland! Parking instructions
Free street parking is available in unmarked spaces outside street closure areas. During First Friday, you can also park for free in the Roy Kelly Parking Garage located at 200 East 27th Street. You can also ride the free shuttle with pickup and dropoff at Texas A&M University's Memorial Student Center (MSC) to Roy Kelly Parking Garage in Downtown Bryan! The shuttle will depart the MSC starting at 6:00PM, and run every 30 minutes. The final shuttle back to campus will depart from Downtown at 9:30PM. *All TAMU shuttles have both wheelchair lifts and restraints for accessibility.

Application Process for First Friday Events

 

This is a two-step application process for local artists in the BCS community who wish to showcase and sell their work at First Friday events.

 

Step 1: Partnership Application

Before applying for any specific event, you must first submit a one-time Partnership Application. This application does not apply to a specific First Friday.

 

  • Partnership Applications must be submitted at least two months before the first event you wish to participate in.
    • Example: To apply for August First Friday, submit your partnership application by June 10th at 12:00 PM (Noon).
    • You will receive additional information on your partnership application by the 15th of the month. 
  • Applications submitted after the 10th of the month at 12:00 PM will NOT be reviewed until the 10th of the following month. 

So long as you remain an active partner of First Friday (applying to at least 1 First Friday each year) you will only need to complete the Partnership Application 1 time. If 12 months lapse without a First Friday application from you, you will need to resubmit a partnership application.

 

Becoming a partner of First Friday does not guarantee your participation in the event. Partnership only means you will be able to apply to participate in each event. 

 

Step 2: Monthly Event Applications

If your Partnership Application is approved, you will receive private application links for individual First Friday events by email.

 

You must submit a separate monthly event application for each First Friday event you wish to attend. These applications are approved on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend applying as soon as these open each month. Please note that spaces are limited and you may not be able to participate every month. 

  • Monthly First Friday applications open on the 1st of the month prior to the event you wish to participate in and close on the 10th of the month.
  • Example: Applications for August First Friday will open on July 1st at 12:00 PM and close on July 10th at 12:00 PM. 

 

Important Deadlines
