Saturday August 15 ONLY Underground Sea on the “Sea” is a competitive Commander tournament hosted by NorthStar CEDH in association with Collector’s Connection, taking place August 15th, 2026 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) in Duluth, Minnesota. Join us for a full day of high-level cEDH on the shore of Lake Superior. Doors will open at 10am for player check-in and round 1 will start at 11am. We will have the standard 80 minute rounds with 20 additional minutes if need be, for when time is called. After Swiss the semis and finals will have a hard cap of 3hrs. We will have a scaling prize support, the more people who sign up the more we pay out. At 30 players we will offer a cut to top 10. Once we reach 40 players, we will have a cut to top 13. Then at 60 players we will have a cut to top 16. Those that make top cut will receive a payout. Prizing 1st Place: Underground Sea Additional prize support will be added based on attendance. Description: Join North Star cEDH, Collector’s Connection & The Cloudy Commons Collective for the fifth installment of the Cloudy Commons Cup series! This competitive Pauper Commander event will take place at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) as part of the Excalibur Con Convention Weekend. Players will compete through Swiss rounds with a cut to single-elimination playoffs based on attendance. The tournament will be run at Competitive REL using Eminence Gaming's Commander tournament policies. Decklists must be submitted prior to registration closing. What is cPDH? Pauper Commander (PDH) is a Commander format where all cards in the deck must be common, with the exception of your commander(s), which may be uncommon creatures, vehicles, or eligible Backgrounds. The format maintains the social and strategic gameplay of Commander while providing a unique competitive environment built around commons-only deck construction. Sunday August 16 ONLY MTG [Bracket 2] 2v2 presented by Collector’s Connection Registration: 11AM Start Time: 12PM Description: This one has been a fan favorite this past year… Similar to “Two Headed Giant”, find your best Magic Bud and compete together for glory! Players will have individual life totals and sit diagonal from each other. The goal? Eliminate the other team with your best [Bracket 2] decks. Using roughly the bracketing system laid out by Wizards of the Coast: No Game Changers No Mass Land Denial No Chaining Extra Turns or Combats No 2 Card Infinite Combos 3+ Card Combos OK after turn 8 No Intentional Non-Deterministic Win lines (i.e. Krark/Sakashima) (All judge decisions will be based on fairness for all and will be final.) *3-5 75 Minute Rounds Based on Attendance Prizes: Top 4 will receive a MTG Hobbit Collector Pack, and each player participating will receive 1 MTG Hobbit Play Booster Pack Per Win. Collector’s Connection – The Hobbit Draft Join Collector’s Connection for a special The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Draft!
