Join Amy Smoot on November 22nd or 23rd to create your own clay Christmas ornaments! Choose from a variety of Christmas shapes to cut out your ornament, and decorate your ornament with textures and glazes in this one hour workshop. Participants will be given a slab of clay and should be able to make 2-3 ornaments depending on size and shape. Saturday, November 22 Session A: 2:30-3:30  Session B: 3:45-4:45 Session C: 5-6 Sunday, November 23 Session D: 12:30 -1:30  Session E: 1:45-2:45 Session F: 3-4  This class is for all ages, but participants 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. If you and your child would both like to create an ornament, you must purchase one spot for each participant. Please limit arrival time/end time to the start time/end time of your session to allow for clean up and turnover between each session. ​ Ornaments will be fired and available to pick up in Kentuck’s Clay Studio within 3-4 weeks. Participants will be contacted via email once they’re ready for pick up. Instructed by Amy Smoot, this workshop will be held in Kentuck's Clay Studio at 2014 5th St. Students should wear clothes that they don't mind getting clay or glaze on. This class has a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 13 participants. If the class fails to meet the minimum, participants will be refunded. This workshop is non-refundable after the registration deadline passes. ​ About Amy Smoot: Amy Smoot is the Clay Studio manager at Kentuck. She is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery. This workshop is sponsored in part by the Alabama State Council on the Arts.

Parking instructions
This class will be held in Kentuck's Clay Studio at 2014 5th Street. The entrance is in the Courtyard of Wonders. Look for the green door and trim! There are two parking lots next to the Courtyard of Wonders, and participants are also welcome to park in Downtown Northport.
